About Gig Harbor

Grab a kayak or a latte, sip some wine or savor ice cream, put your feet up or slip on your running shoes. Whatever your fancy, we have it in Gig Harbor, named one of Smithsonian Magazines Top Five Small Towns for culture, heritage and charm. We encourage you to take your time and explore the entire peninsula area.

Gig Harbor is perfect for an overnight destination. Our unique position, close to metropolitan centers, yet situated on a quiet, beautiful and historic peninsula - provides you access to site-seeing, history, culture, dining, shopping and much more. All while enjoying first class, state of the art, locally-owned overnight lodging and facilities to serve their needs.

Imagine yourself in Gig Harbor.  Visit the visitor center in the heart of downtown at 3207 Harborview Drive, along the waterfront. The Skansie Visitor Center is open Wednesday through Sunday during the summer months and Thursday through Saturday between October and March. In addition, the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce operates a visitor center on Judson Street, simply two blocks from the waterfront. The Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center is open Monday through Friday between 10am and 4pm year round.
